What you describe is exactly what I did. It was always an OPT IN mailing list. All people received was a relevant, targetted and professional ONE OFF INVITATION. However some people, including many who never actually received the email, have jumped on the "spam" bandwagon. This thread has long since ceased to have any operational relevance it may just possibly once have possessed. I also see too little of the respect for other subscribers which the AUP requires. Anyone else received any spam today from a local, un-named company? I'm trying to track down where he got my email address from... And yes, he is a member of this list. I thought people on here should know better than this!!! N.

Hello all. I have just gone through and added a few names to the no-contact list although only about 50% of the people posting so far in this subject so far were ever emailed in the first place. At last count, about 5 or 6. The actions of some in threatening mail blocks and in continuing this on NZNOG has made it rather hard for me to asertain who would like to be added. I have already discussed it with others, some who would rather keep the pot boiling... for no obvious reason.... I have tried to sort this out with as many people as possible. Michael, after sending spam (presumably to a bunch of people on this list) you shouldn't be throwing stones. I sent the email to the list at 5:14pm although Paradise didn't pass it on until just after 6pm... In any case, I sent the email to the list before I heard from you - and to be honest I don't give spammers the courtesy of assuming they'll reply intelligently or in a timely fashion (Which you did, however).
