Dear Colleague, This is to notify you that one or more objects in which you are designated for notification have been modified in the NZRR routing registry database. These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers (http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded in the near future. The reloading of the servers is staggered over a period of time so that if you are peering with both servers at an exchange, you can maintain at least one BGP session at all times and consequently a full set of routes. Four recent IPv4 /8 allocations - please update your filters

Hi, The IANA IPv4 registry has been updated to reflect the allocation of four /8s in recent weeks. Firstly, two /8s were allocated to RIPE NCC in May 2010: 31/8 RIPE NCC 2010-05 whois.ripe.net ALLOCATED 176/8 RIPE NCC 2010-05 whois.ripe.net ALLOCATED Secondly, two /8s were allocated to LACNIC in June 2010: 177/8 LACNIC 2010-06 whois.lacnic.net ALLOCATED 181/8 LACNIC 2010-06 whois.lacnic.net ALLOCATED You can find the IANA IPv4 registry at: http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ipv4-address-space.xml http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ipv4-address-space.xhtml http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ipv4-address-space.txt Please update your filters as appropriate. Advice sought

Advice please on new ISP. I am currently with Xtra on a home business package. I use a single static IP. I am told they cannot provide a second static IP unless I sign up for a second telecom account which includes a separate phone line and broadband account! This will mean I pay for a redundant line account just to get a second static IP which itself will cost an additional $20 p/m. They haven't told me how to connect both these connections to the same network! I am ready to ditch Telecom altogether. Any suggestions for an ISP (I'm in ChCh) that can provide multiple static IP's on a broadband connection. I use around 40G per/month (I want more but this is also a limit apparently). Any advice appreciated. As of May 2010, the IANA freepool has about 7% of IPv4 addresses remaining, and it is important we get a clearer picture of global IPv6 readiness. The New Zealand Network Operators' Group The NZNOG mailing list exists to facilitate discussion among operators of networks in New Zealand on matters relevant to network operators as described in the list's Acceptable Use Policy. That policy appears later in this posting. The NZNOG Trust is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act. The trust exists to provide the legal framework needed to do jobs like operating the bank account which holds the money which allows our annual conferences to happen. Help! Need 8x SFP Single-mode 155mbps 1310nm

Hi Folks, Subject says it all. While I don't want to say "money no object", it would be extremely useful to us if we could find 8 (eight) units of Single-mode 1310nm SFPs that will support STM1 by mid-morning tomorrow (Thursday, 3 June) in Auckland - we will pick them up from wherever. It's a bit late to be ringing around the shops so if anyone has a pile sitting around or knows where they can be found I would much appreciate an email off-list.
