Karl, If we can have 50 posts about 23 IP phones on list, then I'm sure some discussion about IPv6 training can be endured even if there are parties with a commercial interest. I am interested and I wonder how many more folk in my area would also be interested (Christchurch) hence why I've copied the NZNOG in as well. What the discussion over the past few days has highlighted for me is I clearly don't know enough and if the messages in my inbox are anything to go by, then there must be others in the same boat. I'd like to understand what the training I need might cost me. How much people think I need to invest in myself to get myself on track. Network device discovery

Hi guys. I'm looking for software that will discover network devices site-wide, as the start-point for an asset management db. Looking for MAC and IP primarily, but if manufacturer\model would be great too. Having command line execution, connectivity diagram output and being opensource\free, would all be a bonus. Not looking forward to having to do it manually, so what's out there to make life easier? Almost time for a beer. Thanks, Paul.

Fibre / Network connectivity

Hi Noggers, We are looking for some internet connectivity into a new support centre in the Auckland CBD. There is an existing fibre box and a bunch of DSL style ports. APNIC Slashes Costs for New Members

Hey everyone, APNIC has slashed the "IP Resource Allocation Fee" from AU$3500 (ex-GST) to AU$1750 (ex-GST). This means a new member can sign-up and get access to IP resources of up to a /22 of IPv4, IPv6 space and AS numbers. The cost of becoming a new member (with resources) is now: AU$2425 (ex-GST for Australians) which is: AU$675 (ex-GST) + AU$1750 (ex-GST).
