These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers (http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded in the near future. NZ Proxy servers and http compression.

Looking through the logs on $work's site I notice that I am getting a significant number of requests for HTML pages with gzip turned off. The extent of this is that while these are only about 1/4 of requests the total bandwidth used is greater than the "compressed" versions. eg: Bandwidth Hits/minute Page size URL 438.2 Kb/s 21 h/min 154 KB http://www.[].co.nz/ 211.3 Kb/s 54 h/min 28 KB http://www.[].co.nz/ Looking though the logs [1] and going off the knowledge that since every browser including IE6 supports compression I am guessing that the problem is people's proxy servers stripping off the "Accept-Encoding: gzip" headers that the browsers are generating. So those of you who are running proxy servers please have a quick check and make sure it is handling compression correctly. A simple option change may save you half your bandwidth. NZRR Route Registry Update

Hi: NZRS recently sent a note to our registrars, informing them the progress of the DNSSEC for .nz project. We'd like to share the news with the rest of the technical community in New Zealand as well. ------------------------------------------------------- During recent weeks, NZRS has achieved several milestones towards the implementation of DNSSEC in the .nz zone: DNSSEC High Level Architecture ============================== We have published the "DNSSEC High Level Architecture" document which describes the technical architecture to be used to sign .nz and the second level zones. This document is available on our website http://nzrs.net.nz/dns/dnssec/dnssec-high-level-architecture DNSSEC Practice Statement ========================= We have published the "DNSSEC Practice Statement" document, detailing the practices and operational procedures to be used in the implementation of DNSSEC for the .nz and second level zones under .nz. This document is available on our website http://nzrs.net.nz/dns/dnssec/dps SRS Accepts DS Records ====================== Following the SRS release 5.11 on Monday 23 May, the SRS will start to accept DS records for any domain name, but they will not be included as zone data until the corresponding parent zone is signed.
