Vodafone outage in Karori/Highbury/Aro Valley (Wellington)

Just spoke with Vodafone NOC - there was is planned upgrade work going on Karori prod node. Whatever it is seems to have taken out Highbury CMNT network. The Public facing Network status meter however shows all good - when there has been an ongoing outage since around 0100. Change window is meant to close at 0300 so hopefully it resumes before then. I am a little annoyed when there is planned work but the Public reporting tool isn't updated or fed by these things. -Joel

Multiple connections to UFB in server room

Hi guys. A shared server room has an active UFB service for another business on the floor. We want UFB service to our office too. Is an additional ONT install needed (as I'm being told by <ISP>)? Or, can Chorus just enable another port on the existing ONT and have and then run a network cable out to both routers from one ONT? Is the ONT capable of multiple PPPOE sessions to the offsite hardware? Or is this just creating a problem that doesn't need to exist (- ie say yes to the second ONT install)? Spark (telecom) paging pacnet interface broken ?

Hi all, Does anyone here look after, or know who looks after, the 026 400 1283 modem interface to spark paging ? It's currently answering calls, but not giving a modem handshake. (Please don't respond with messages about paging being end-of-life'd, the fire service is paying for it to kept alive on life-support.) Thanks

Hi all, I’ve been running a survey for about 15 months, regarding the way IPv6 is being deployed for residential customers. I will be presenting an updated version of the survey results in the next APNIC 44 (https://conference.apnic.net/44/) to be held in Taichung next 7-14 September. As the IPv6 deployment is still ongoing in many countries, it will be interesting to gather new responses for the survey, in order to have as much accurate as possible data. This event is bringing together networking experts from around the world to collaborate and exchange knowledge on new lambda networking technologies, middleware and applications. The workshop will have a specific focus on how global network architectures are supporting research applications in the Pacific region, in particular astronomy, high-energy physics, and other data intensive science. Mikrotik and VLAN stripping

Hi Guys, I was just wondering if it’s possible to set an egress rule on a mikrotik to strip any vlan tag without specifying the VLAN, and if so, what this configuration would look like? (i.e – vlan=any) It seems that you can do this for specific VLANS but if the inbound VLAN tag is random there doesn’t seem to be any ready examples on how to do this. Is it even possible? Or am I just trying to do things incorrectly? -- Steve.
