I'm doing some work with IPv6 at the moment, and one of the upcoming tasks I'm going to need to do is get a couple of IPv6 DNS servers online. Can someone tell me if the NZ SRS supports IPv6 glue records? Specifically, can I register the AAAA NS records?

Trademe are announcing their network to both APE and WIX. Their preference is to route packets via the WIX as they're based in Wellington so we've path stuffed the APE announcement so that dual APE/WIX homed entities favour the WIX. This is also so that paths can be symmetric as return packets from Trademe will favour the WIX where they can. Some of you who peer at the APE and WIX may still be favouring announcements from your upstream provider and in many cases these will be links that you pay charges which are related to usage in some way. If I were in your shoes I'd be constructing some BGP policy tweaks to favour APE routes over routes from a link I was paying for regardless of AS path. I've added two community strings to the announcements of 202.21.128.0/24 via AS24078 which may help: 24078:9439 announced via WIX 24078:9560 announced via APE

This announcement is posted on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Development. - - - - - Dear industry colleagues, Ultra Wide Band (UWB) is a new wireless technology developed to transmit large amounts of data over very short distances. UWB devices are designed to operate at very low power levels, enabling them in theory, to share spectrum with traditionally licensed services over a wide range of frequencies without adverse impact to those services. Potential applications of UWB are high-speed wireless networking in the workplace or at home, ground penetrating radar for geological surveys and search and rescue, wall penetrating imaging in construction, vehicular radar for collision avoidance, medical imaging, and hand-held communication and measurement systems. The Ministry is in the process of preparing an engineering discussion paper seeking submissions from the industry and stakeholders, on spectrum allocation and technical standards for UWB devices. In conjuction with this paper, the Ministry is planning to hold seminars in Auckland and Wellington to clarify and discuss issues raised.
