Morning, We've got a client in Auckland with a Cisco UC560 PBX. This isn't a unit we're familiar with. They'd like to change SIP providers which will involve changes to their current public WAN address on the unit and other settings. Is there someone who would be willing to assist with this? Hi all, Thanks for your suggestions. About half of you said Juniper and the other half of you recommended a wide variety of good solid choices. Particularly valuable was the reminder to use eBay, which is actually reliably useful these days. I’ve bought a Juniper and I’m keeping your other suggestions in mind for the future. Cheers, Lloyd

Suggestions for a lab switch?

Hi all, I’ve run out of port capacity in my lab, so I need another switch. Since it’s a lab, I want a brand of switch that I don’t already have so that I can do more testing. Since it’s a brand I don’t already have, I don’t really know what to get. What I want/need is: managed (somehow, SNMP at least) gigabit (I have lots of 100Mb thanks) rack mount around $600 (so, an SMB class switch I guess) ~24 ports What I don’t want/need (I have these already): obsolete Cisco IOS devices Mikrotik Netgear D-Link a lemon PoE Please reply off list with suggestions of devices to either buy or avoid. Whole of Domain (.nz) 2016 Web Harvest

Hi Noggers, Further to previous emails (6th Nov 2015), we are all set to kick off the web harvest in the new year. We’ll be starting the crawl on the 11th Jan 2016, and expect to be crawling for approximately 3 to 4 weeks. The crawlers will be using the user agent string ““NLNZ_IAHarvester2016” so if you do need to set any specific rules for our crawlers this would be the identifier to use. The robots.txt and Robots META tag exclusions on crawled sites will be obeyed with some minor exceptions:- We’ll strictly obey all rules that relate to the user agent (apart from slash pages, which will be harvested regardless). Facebook and some other curated social media sites will be harvested regardless of their Robots.txt. The Crawl Notification (Notice to Webmasters) page is located at on the Library’s web site at: http://natlib.govt.nz/publishers-and-authors/web-harvesting/domain-harvest. If you have any questions or concerns about the harvest, please drop me a line. I’ll watch for email at various points over the Christmas break, and back in the office on the 4th Jan to address any questions/concerns.
