I queried Domainz about them allowing us to register domains prior to being authoritative and was told that this feature is part of the Registrar agreement and is a privilege that may be given to some Registrars. This functionality has been provisioned for in the changes Domainz have made but will not be activated on Day 1. Are you sure they're not checking first Ben or have you managed to specifically arrange for this service to be activated? Domainz system

Does anybody know if new system tests for a domain being authoratative on the specified name servers prior to registration? The UoW system used to check the first two name servers only. I am getting problem reports suggesting the new system may be checking all specified name servers (one of our 4 name servers only reloads once every 24 hours whereas the others reload every 30 mins if changes have been made) p.s. I received an e-mail from Rex Croft yesterday. He is working in Adelaide CBD being a "fixit" person for solaris systems. He seems rather happy with the move to AU. We are currently experiencing some technical issues with the Domainz Registration System, as a result of which the system has been taken off-line while these issues are resolved. Despite the above, the zone build is happening and the process is due to start shortly. We are making every effort to get the system back up as quickly as possible, and will keep you posted as to progress. Our sincere apologies for this disruption. Obviously, I would like to be able to make the same sort of changes I could before, with the domain key. Specifically my Technical Contact details and the like. All the domains I host are "Unallocated", and I am not about to go and convert all the keys of the domains I don't actually own, so how do I get in? You will have to excuse me, I know little about the new system, as I don't really do a whole lot of domain stuff these days... Is there anywhere that explains exactly what the changes are, how they affect me, and what I can do? I have looked around the site, but well, it's doesn't seem to explain well what the new system does/is.
