Prolonged periods of high packet loss. Started all of a sudden about a month ago.
Was fine until then. Getting 14 Mbps with no jitter or packet loss.
Now only getting 0.3 to 0.8 Mbps with lots of jitter and 12.5% packet loss.
Can be bad for hours and then all of a sudden good for a few hours but then bad again.
OK for email but too slow for browsing.
Flip, my ISP, say they can't help. They advise that I go to fibre but I don't need it and I can't afford it. I might have to go through Telecommunications Dispute Resolution (TDR).
Before I do I was wondering if anyone here might be able to explain what's going on. Like is Flip throttling my ADSL service to get me to go over to fibre? Or does Vocus need to upgrade its network to cope with all the new fibre users without marginalizing copper users?
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
