Sure, being able to register domain.nz instead of domain.co.nz is great. But the reality is you're going to need both.

If I understood todays INZ council meeting correctly, there's policies to address these issues without it costing anyone anything right now.

iirc folk are going to be able to reserve their 2ld.nz space without payment.

I assume you just can't use it without payment.
