Hi Everyone. This is a plug for the 2014 Internet Technical Architecture Conference. The program has just been finalised and we've got some exciting speakers. InTAC is on the first day of the NetHui conference on the 9th of July at SkyCity in Auckland. It is pitched at people in a technical architecture role and has a theme of looking at emerging technologies and how these can help shape the architecture of the New Zealand Internet. Registration for the event is free and can be done via the NetHui registration system (http://nethui.org.nz/) This year the conference has three themes with the following speakers: ***Future-Proof Networking*** "Software Defined Networking at RMIT" Paul Zanna - Senior Manager, Infrastructure Innovation and Design Information Technology Services (ITS) RMIT University, Melbourne Australia RMIT has recently developed and deployed a proof of concept network using SDN and OpenFlow technologies. Paul will present the high level details of this real-world pilot along with some of the business drivers which helped RMIT make such a decision. "Panel - Our Future Plans for making use of UFB" Some of the largest users of the UFB network give us an insight into the sorts of ways they are using it. The panel will then discuss how they would like to see the UFB network develop to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of New Zealanders into the next decade. Representatives from the National Cyber Security Centre will present their view of how the reporting requirements of the act effect network architecture decisions. ***Authentication*** "Architecting an Authenticated/Trusted Internet" Richard Foy - General Manager, Digital Transformation, Department of Internal Affairs Richard is responsible for leading the push for New Zealanders to be able to complete their transactions with government easily in a digital environment.
