Agreed. But I suspect if you complain without using the Best Common Practices (RFC) reference you'll get a response along the lines of: "Our highly skilled engineering staff have assessed the situation and we're following widely accepted NZ practice". Use the RFC reference and you support the engineering staff in their desire to do the right thing. Business people may not read the RFCs but they would respond very strongly to the idea of a beat up in the press that said: "ISP blah disregards well established international standards causing poor service to customers" Business people love to be 'tick box' compliant.
