Well I have no doubt it took a while for the person who knew what to do to actually start work on it, but that's not what I had in mind. Having only two authoritative servers for so many business critical domains, both of them administered by the same team inside the same network environment is asking for trouble. And that's without getting into details like having recursion enabled on them which is also a bad idea. The problem that needs resolving is not the particular cause of the outage, but everything that contributes to the risk of failure being there in the first place.
