Wonder if Telecom could be persuaded not to charge for multicast traffic on Jetstream...?
As the RAN's (I guess) count for any traffic going to/from the user Unicast or Multicast. there would be no way of splitting this up (unless they can) Maybe (another thought), Adding a "Multicast Realm" so charging doen't matter, but people want multicast + unicast at the same time, so I think maybe its a wasted thought. I think the best would be to just say "IF ISP wants to enable multrcast for its client, send this back via radius". The other question is who supplies the bandwidth for the Multicast? At the moment Attica have a small tunnel to connect APE up to the Multicast Backbone, if we want all of NZ to have access to it including Jetstream/Jetstart, having Multiple tunnels to overseas places is a "waste". Any Ideas??
