This is actually quite a useful exercise sometimes. Considering the number of people on the list (200 last time I looked) and their positions an ISP will usually at least look at publicly made complaints. Although I don't the majority of complaints tend to cast the complainer in a worse light than the complainee. I was going to do a count of the number of posts to the list each month this year so far but it appears the web archive is broken (only about the first 30 articles for each month are kept).
