You are spot on there. Wholesale(Chorus) are only given info about a job after it has been raised and processed by a retailer (be it t/com retail, orcon, whoever); the request for it to be raised can be from any retailer, each retailer has no idea which other retailer might be asking to raise a job at any moment in time. Wholesale get a job that says for instance "connect house X to DSLAM patch Y - for job ID XXXXX". all wholesale know is that there is a job and what they need to do. Tracking everything back requires matching retail side requests to wholeside jobs, and only certain bits of Telecom are allowed to do that. -JoelW
