Point taken. At the very least the post should have included a link to the TV3 stream, but I didn't catch Lin in time. OTOH, streaming is simply not practical for the majority of NZ internet users. Consensus seems to be that this episode was of particular interest due to issues like data caps and contention ratios being raised in mainstream media apparently for the first time. So, no it's not public domain (though publicly available, albeit streaming only) and no the permission of the copyright holder was not sought. It's just an alternative for those without the means to stream. On 02/22/06 23:43, Phillip Hutchings wrote:

Anyone ask the copyright holder if they could host this? Piracy in back-rooms is one thing, but on a list which advertises itself as playing host to the top network administrators in NZ.
TV3 has had Windows Media 9 streams of their current affairs programs for a while now. I know windows media isn't amazingly popular with OSS people, but that's still no reason to advertise pirated copies on this list.
You can find the video at http://tv3.co.nz/News/tabid/67/articleID/4255/Default.aspx
