(Apologies for cross-posts...) APNIC 30 is currently underway in Australia, and as part of the meeting, an on-site election for a new Number Resource Organisation (NRO - http://www.nro.net) Number Council representative from the AP region will be held on Friday. Our very own Jonny D. Martin has been nominated for the NRO NC. Jonny needs no introduction to most of you, having been a strong contributer to the Interwebs especially in the Asia Pacific region for quite some time. For those of you who don't know Jonny, the details of his nomination are at http://meetings.apnic.net/30/elections/jonnymartin Online voting closes tomorrow (Wednesday 25 August) at 1100 hrs NZ time, and proxy votes are not available for this election. This means that to throw your organisation's support behind Jonny, you need to get someone with voting rights to vote through MyAPNIC before 1100 hrs tomorrow morning! If you do not know someone with with voting rights, talk to your corporate contact, or get in touch with the APNIC helpdesk. Additionally, there is a Policy SIG meeting on Thursday. Current policy proposals are listed at http://www.apnic.net/community/policy/proposals. This is your opportunity to have a say in APNIC policy development, so join in and help shape the future of the Internet in the Asia Pacific region. Remote participation (http://meetings.apnic.net/30/remote) is available, or there are half a dozen or so Kiwis here that can pass comments or questions on the proposals on to the meeting on your behalf. Cheers -Mike
