A webcam was stationed on top of this unit in plain sight so as to deter people from doing anything to it. The webcam was not actually connected to anything but thats not the point.
We were informed by management to remove said camera because it clearly was in breach of the Privacy Act and violated the privacy of the staff who worked around this area. =)
Umm.. I thought it was Legal if the Staff where told the cameras where there and it may record them, but It would be against the Privacy Act if it was a "Hidden Camera" and the staff where not aware of it. In all areas I've seen which I've seen cameras (even the ones in downtown etc), there is a sign someplace saying something like Cameras in Use. The Privacy Act means even the Police (as far as I know) have to have signs on the roads saying "Speed Cameras may be in use" (or something like that) Thanks Craig Whitmore Orcon Internet - To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
