JetStream is a physical patch across from out of the Exchange, into the
DSLAM, then back into the pair bearer etc, then onto the subscriber.
You should have a disconnection tone, (beep beep beep...) which means the
physical connection is still there, Telecom have just disabled the port via
software.

Hello all, I'm currently in the process of moving. Having had Telecom disconnect my phone-line at 12 noon, I've discovered I can still access the internet via Jetstream (which is getting moved on about Monday).
I find it interesting that this is possible, and adds credance to the apparent fact that you don't need a phone connected (obviously you need the line though) to have Jetstream working.
Could be interesting food for thought wrt to the unbundling report by the Commerce Commission.
