For a start I have an SLA in place! Waiting 3 days for a fix is unacceptable. For a residential client, it's just a PITA.
If you have a POTS line, with a medical monitor attached, then losing residential POTS is more than a PITA. That was then, the Internet is now. We are moving towards, or already at, a point where the Internet is ubiquitous and always available. At least, that is both general experience and also the general expectation.
