Sure - I'd be willing to help with Juniper config and examples if people wanted to try and get multicast going. I'm sure there is someone from Cisco who would be happy to provide the same. Dean On Wed, 2002-01-16 at 10:06, Mike Sutton [ awacs ] wrote:
Could we do some practical workshops on this issue...
I would like to get BBC World multicast throughout New Zealand and I can supply it as a legitimate multicast feed for the workshop... Since 1998 I have been Licensed by BBC World to Netcast this 24 hour Video News Channel and have done so using Real media as well as having Windows Media Servers...
Multicast is something practical that you Network Operators can bring to the New Zealand... Its a disgrace that it is not widely available by now so please lets show some Kiwi initiative and makeit a reality not just a meeting of words.
From 1998 onwards I have had multicast working from time to time on Xtra's dial in network, this required radius permission's to be set for each user requiring this facility... I also watched it working in trial on Redback Adsl Gear in early 2000 without problems... So this is do-able...and until it widely publically available we do not have a fully working Internet1 in New Zealand...
