Perhaps a server run by an incorporated society rather than a specific ISP, fed by bandwidth sourced from multiple interested NZ ISP's? This way it could have multiple paths out to us and eu undernet servers. Of course, it'd still have to have secret real-world IP's and again be on an APE or WIX address for domestic access.
Alternativly you could make the undernet server just have a 256K link to the world all to itself. If people want to flood that then they kill the server but leave people intact. This is just a little harder than the "shut down server for 10 minutes" link on the web page. -- Simon Lyall. | Newsmaster | Work: simon.lyall(a)ihug.co.nz Senior Network/System Admin | | Home: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz ihug, Auckland, NZ | Asst Doorman | Web: http://www.darkmere.gen.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
