Wasn't there a leak of Telecom's account information a while back?

I can't remember who was involved, but I think it was a telemarketing agency for a competing ISP...

The Telecom ADSL service was with Telecom Retail.. And if a line has moved
to a different provider then Telecom Retail will have no idea where it has
moved to. Only that they lost the service.

Only Telecom wholesale will know where the line has moved to but they are
not allowed to Tell Telecom Retail.

I (presume) there are processes involved when things like this happen and
these processes take time.

Things like this (it doesn't sound like it in this instance) can happen by
mistake. Customers giving ISP's wrong numbers, wrong addresses even.
Working at ISPs most of my adult life I've seen it all.

I don't know if anyone has done this before but maybe going to the police
and say "someone stole my phone number and adsl".

I wouldn't blame (in first instance) any of the major ISP's. It may have
been a reseller etc of an ISP and the ISP has no idea they now have your
ADSL/Phone going thru them.

Keep us up to date.. I (presume) a lot of people on here would love to
know the full story (when you find out)

Thanks
Craig
