It's amazing how difficult it is now for a consumer to realise they have a choice of ISP's for Jetstream when they visit the Telecom website. Everywhere that Jetstream is mentioned on the site now, it is called "Xtra Jetstream". The prices quoted on the site are no longer Telecom's prices, they are Xtra's prices, and there is a small link at the bottom of the page that says something along the lines of "For other ISP's click here". I also recently moved house, and it was scary how quickly she almost signed me up for Xtra without ever saying the word "Xtra", we just talked about Jetstream. It wasn't until the end of the phonecal when she was summarising the services on the new line that she mentioned the cost of $64.95, at which point I stopped her and pointed out that I already had my own ISP for Jetstream and she changed it. You'd have thought she could see that I already had Jetstream (not Xtra) on my current homeline. I'm surprised that none of the media have picked up on this. It's blatant anti-competitive behaviour, and it is now very difficult for consumers to realise they have a choice. Claire Hurman Dan Clark writes:

I did not expect to call Telecom when I shift house recently and get asked if I am already an XTRA customer then get told they will set that up in a jiffy, I had to explain to the operator that I had no intention of shifting ISP's and the operator was puzzled that I wouldn't want to go with XTRA and above all he wasn't entirely aware that other ISP's were offering JetStream!

If it is, shouldn't Telecom say so, somewhere?

I thought Telecom was taking a neutral stance and not favouring/disadvantaging some Jetstream business partners over others?
