A 1080P movie off Netflix that can be watched during offpeak hours, paused for hours at a time, restarted, delayed, and scheduled to be watched by Netflix for when it best suits the network conditions. Sheesh. I wonder how carefully these press releases are sanity checked before being published as news. Cheers - N On 12 August 2015 at 09:45, Tony Wicks <tony(a)wicks.co.nz> wrote:
Based on the real world traffic of over 650k NZ broadband users, and having specifically monitored the impact of the Win10 release on our CDNs and international network, I find it totally inconceivable that the claims of that article are anywhere near the truth.
I would move on – there is NOTHING to see here.
I concur with this, apart from a small ramp up in Akamai traffic there is nothing to see here as far as the win10 release goes. Hell, the download is equivalent to a popular 1080p movie off Netflix as far as the network is concerned. That’s a faux advertisement labelled as news IMHO.
