Evening all After a bit of packet capture fun, I think we've found the culprit, somebody with a copy of InterMapper 3 (a Mac based network mapper, apparently) going troppo and pinging nodes on APE at the rate of ~5000 packets/sec, for a second or so every 30 seconds. So hopefully, they'll find the relevant user, and give them a learning tomorrow. Cheers Si On Wed, Oct 03, 2001 at 06:17:22PM +1200, Simon Blake said:
Mmmm. It clearly went ballistic, so ballistic in fact that the interface cards in my monitor machines wedged hard, so I don't have any good idea what happened. I suspect somebody out there knows *exactly* what happened - if you know who you are, own up now...
Cheers Si

First went down at ~17:25 came back 17:38 went down again about 5 mins ago and appears to be back again.
