Tony,
I doubt you've found SXC as it doesn't land near there.

However - there's an old cable (1890 - 1956) called La Perouse (SYD) - Nelson which is noted as landing in Murawi Beach. 

The maintenance authority for it is listed as Cable and Wireless - you could call their cable system NOC, but I reckon they'd go "huh?".

There are some Telecom cable warning signs further back in line with the cable, and next stop from Murawai in the direction the cable is going is Australia.
