The Auckland FTP server is back up and running. Not quite in time for the Ubuntu 10.10 launch, but close :)

At the moment the load balancer is redirecting all requests to our node in San Francisco. This is likely why you're getting poor performance.

I don't have an ETA for restoring the node, but will let you know when it's back to its old self.
