I run a small/personal mail server here in Otautahi Christchurch. AFAIK
SPF records (in DNS) would in normal operation be looked-up by some SPF
policy service. When correctly configured the process is automatic.
Sounds like something is broken?
But it is easy to discover their SPF records using dig, for testing etc
$ dig txt maxnet.co.nz
Response to this DNS (TXT) query shows a soft-fail-all (might want to
tell them about that...) their mx records permitted and two other TXT
records included that point to some hosts and subnetworks you might be
looking for.
