To Domainz: Where was the notification of the change in the number of
nameservers you were going to check. This not only has caught 2day off
guard, but also caught off the isp that I work with[1] as well. If you are
going to make changes like this, you need to tell us IN ADVANCE. I assume
that is why you set up the drs(a)domainz readonly mailing list.
Having said that, I know Domainz aren't going to reply, so sorrt for
wasting your bandwidth.
Peter: As a temporary solution, you can always point ns3.2day to
ns1.2day.net, as Domainz does not check to see that the servers have a
unique IP, only a unique name. This is of course is less than optimal, and
I would like to see Domainz check only the two nameservers as they used
to.

Our staff members too need to have the nameserver preconfigured before registering domain names with the new Advantage[1] system. It is also my understanding (from what POB said at the registrar meeting) that to change this would require a change in ISOCNZ policy before this could be setup. ISOCNZ set up the policy that Domainz work with and one of those is that a domain name must have two preconfigured nameservers prior to registeration.
Regardless of ISOCNZ policy or anything else, the UoW system was only checking the first two name servers and ignoring the status of any additional ones.
The new system is not the same, and there was no notification that this change would occur. We are quickly building a new ns3 name server to airfreight to our co-location provider in the USA to get around this problem.
We have sent DOMAINZ emails but they continue to ignore us.
