I remember seeing a while back that some funds were going to be made available for helping people fund the cost of attending Apricot (since it's taking the place of the 2016 conference.)

Did anything ever eventuate out of this? The cost for Apricot is significantly higher than the usual nznog cost plus hotels etc if you're not from Auckland. Would be good to see some clarity on this given that early bird tickets are now closed and not everyone has a corporate to fund their attendance.

Even if its a "its not happening" comment that would be still helpful.

Alternately have the trustees talked to the Apricot organisers at all about possibilities?
