I assume you mean the boat show - in which case it would have been easy for the event organisers to make sure it was available, but they possibly didn't, and now its a smidgeon late? I'm sure they won't make the same mistake again, and by next year it will be all sorted ... Its also on the Auckland City Councils wishlist, as they manage both Westhaven and Viaduct Marinas. and you can reasonably argue there is a need for Wifi at both locations. Using a 3G modem is fine, until you want to send alot of video/photos, sort of thing you might do at a boat show, or work all day (after all you can live on a boat) not just occasional usage. Wifi is better because generally it is both faster, and higher data limits that 1GB on a 3G modem. Jeremy PS people who own boats don't have an unlimited amount of money, because they've spent it on the boat already. its beer o'clock. -----Original Message----- From: peter(a)team.swizzle.co.nz [mailto:peter(a)team.swizzle.co.nz] Sent: Friday, 7 March 2008 5:00 p.m. To: Harris, Chris; nznog List Subject: Re: [nznog] Who has WiFi for Viaduct Harbour? If I was a visitor to NZ I might find your comment a little unhelpful if not offensive, but since I am a Kiwi and well known to many here, I am more than a little puzzled by your sharp rebuke. The reality is there is a significant international event on here and lots of inbound visitors, many who are used to having access to public wifi wherever they go. There was not only a lost opportunity for revenue here, but we are sending some international people away with a poor impression of our country.
