I'm sure someone will regard this as commercial so apologies to
those people already, but this is to exciting to not tell everyone. As of
12.2(50)SE Cisco have now moved basic IPv6 support on the following switches
into the base image:

This
reduces the cost of moving to IPv6 substantially, as previsouly you had to buy
the very expensive "Advanced IP" image.
Once you
have one of these images on the kit you need to execute "sdm prefer
dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 ..." AND reboot the device.
