Jamie,
To me the notion that ORBS is "attacking" is obviously specious..
FWIW I believe that testing a mail relay for "openness" for the purpose of informing the operator is not an attack. How one chooses to treat the information is a separate, sensitive, matter.
so one goes on to wonder why Dean Anderson's message carries any appearance of credibility..
Hopefully whatever merit you see in Dean Anderson's message is soon run to ground by a little net research. [snip]
I deliberately made no judgement whatsoever as to the merit of Dean's message. Quite frankly I couldn't care less as to his qualifications. I forwarded the message as something that might be of operational interest to NZNOG readers regardless of whether they agree with his sentiment. At the very least it might help someone unravel some potential mail routing issues. Is it true that BBN blocked ORBS? I find that quite astonishing, if it is indeed a fact. --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
