What's bothering me with the increase in SPAM is SPAMCOP, which checks the Tech handle in the APNIC database for the allocated address space and emails me directly with a complaint about my customers spamming. I'm getting upwards of 100 messages a day from it now. Which is not so relevant to me anymore as it's been a while since I was in NetGate, they should trace to the end Service Provider anyway. Suppose I should get someone to update those Database records Huh !! Hi Everyone, Just curious if anyone has noticed a large increase in spam to their customers in the last while, in particular there seems to be a lot of stuff of asian origin, and a large percentage of them are in unreadable (to us) character sets (chinese, japanese, korean perhaps) with pictures and links to porn sites :-( Ordinary spam in english text is bad enough, but when there are explicit pictures within the email as well its just not on at all IMHO. Of the dozen or so that I decided to try and track back, 90% of the source mailservers are listed in either orbz or ordb as open relays. I wonder if the continued existance (perhaps increase) of open relays could make spam the next epidemic after email worms....
