Is PIM really a good idea? Surely you want something with a little more control at a peering point... I hope this is a multicast NZIX in the making :)
You would prefer DVMRP? With PIM you still have fairly well grained control of what groups you want and what groups you don't want - and sparse-mode has it's advantages over DVMRP's send-and-then-maybe-prune-if-someone-tells-us-to. Also, Cisco routers interact with DVMRP neighbors but only actually translate the information into PIM anyway. Cheers. James Tyson.
