I'm pretty sure even email forwarding will stop working at the end of the month.

IIRC if you set up an autofoward on your @paradise.net.nz / @vodafone.co.nz / @clear.net.nz / ... address *before* the closed down the hosting, they'd keep honouring that for some time. But the recommendation was still for users to update their email addresses everywhere to the new ones.
I suspect any email addresses @vodafone.co.nz / @clear.net.nz should probably just be regarded as fairly stale at this point.... and anyone still using them (eg, mailing list subscriptions) should be encouraged to update them to a more current email address. (It wouldn't surprise me if the email forwarding gets turned off as well, at some point in the next year or two; until this follow up message I wondered if that was what had happened.)
