(1) I don't get any sales commission or anything, nor do I have any shares in Maxnet, so I'm not just straight up pimpin' it out. And I'm sure there are other places that can also help you out. I'm simply pointing out that I'm personally aware of at least one very good colo provider on the shore.
Drink more beer dude! Don't think anyone had a prob with your recommendation :)
(2) I'm presuming that your claims are correct, and that you have verified your speed issues in a repeatable, testable fashion, and can demonstrate this to Orcon. If you're just, like, only getting slow speeds to sites located in Upper Gibrovia[1], where packets are delivered via goat[2], then that's a different story.
I think the fact that Barry is still ranting on list on this topic shows the no one from Orcon is paying close enough attention to the list and doing the right thing customer service wise!
Personally I have emailed Barry with details of the account manager at Orcon who I have found very helpful in the past. I have also called this morning to make sure he's still there and I'm cc'ing him this email.
Let's hope someone at Orcon makes a little more effort to ensure Barry is happy with his internet experience! [1]
Personally I consider that an 'industry failure', which is what an 'industry tech list' is to me.

Cheers Don
[1] Even if it's proven that the problem is related to one of Barry's systems I think that it's our roles to help identify it and FIX it. :) _______________________________________________ NZNOG mailing list NZNOG(a)list.waikato.ac.nz http://list.waikato.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/nznog
