Uniforum registration

I'm trying to register a friend for the Uniforum next week and, according to the website, there are still 'earlybird' places left, but to register for three days cost's nearly $1,000. I registered a few weeks back and it came to a third of that. Was that at a 'really, really, really earlybird discount' ?
