Hi all,
At the last NZNOG meeting, we delivered a full day training course on
Internet resource management. A few people have asked me for the
material, so I thought a quick mail to the list would be useful.
The APNIC training course material can be found here:
http://www.apnic.net/training/recent/
and the policy development presentation I gave on the Friday (30th) can
be found here:
http://www.apnic.net/community/presentations/other.html
There was quite a lot of good discussion at the NZNOG meeting on the
current policy proposals so I'd like to encourage you to have a look at
the full proposals and express your opinion on them! There was good
feedback from the NZNOG community, especially on the issues of size and
criteria for a minimum IPv4 allocation and reclamation of unused
historical allocations.
The proposals will be discussed at the upcoming APNIC meeting, but if
you cannot make it to the meeting, you are welcome to participate in the
discussion on the APNIC mailing lists. (We webcast the meetings too, so
you can follow them online.)
The current proposals are listed here:
http://www.apnic.net/docs/policy/proposals/
You can subscribe to one of the mailing lists here:

Policy stuff might not feel that operational, but the policies do affect
you if you're running a business on the Internet and the only way to
change them is to voice your opinon. We haven't had a lot of feedback
from New Zealand in the past, so it'd be good to get your perspective in
some of the discussions!
If you have any questions about the proposals, the meeting or the
discussions, don't hesitate to shoot me a mail.
Cheers,
Nurani
