1. IPv6 workshop
----------------
Places are still available for the full-day IPv6 workshop presented by
Jordi Palet (Consulintel).
Date: Tuesday 6 September 2005
IPv6, the new Internet protocol is currently being deployed around the
world, and it is important for ISPs and upstream providers to start
considering IPv6 deployment in their own networks if they are to meet
the expected growth in customer demand.
This workshop offers a brief, practical introduction to the basics of
IPv6. Participants will learn how to activate IPv6 on their own
laptops, and be given practical instruction on:
* Installing IPv6 on different platforms (XP/W2003, Linux, BSD)
* Basic stateless/stateful configuration, including privacy setup
* Transition mechanisms
* Examples of applications
During the workshop the attendees will also learn to do some basic
monitoring and troubleshooting of the IPv6 network.

2. Pre-conference routing workshop

multihoming workshop)
Routing essentials workshop by Amante Alvaran (APNIC Training team)
Date: Tuesday 30 August - Thursday 1 September 2005
(no sessions on the national holiday, Friday 2 September)
This routing essentials workshop covers basic network infrastructure
design principles that will allow participants to understand and
configure interior and exterior gateway routing protocols. The
workshop will begin by introducing participants to OSPF and BGP, and
will cover the principles of routing policy, including router
configuration under both protocols.
Routing and multihoming workshop by Philip Smith (Cisco)

This workshop is designed to provide an empowering learning
environment. This is a technical workshop and attendees should be
technical staff who are operating a wide area TCP/IP base Internet
Service Provider (ISP) network or Internet eXchange Point (IXP),
likely with international and/or multi-provider connectivity.
You will learn following in this workshop:
* Techniques for design, set-up, and operation of a metropolitan,
regional, or national ISP backbone network. This includes
advanced BGP4 and complex network configurations.
* IOS Essentials every ISP should be doing. The hidden secrets
that all key NSPs have been using for years, but not telling
anyone.
* Techniques for multiple connections to the Internet
(multihoming), including connections to IXPs, NSP, and
transoceanic Internet links.
Participants are expected to bring their own PC to all sessions of the
