Sorry I'm all the way up in Sweden but the thought had crossed my mind that bringing up as many cell sites as possible off battery backup would / could save lives if there are still people trapped in buildings with cellphones.

Perhaps anyone with knowledge of people with local portable generators could help out (?). Probably messy but if it brings up even a few cell sites in central it could help (maybe this has already been done).
