I'm seeing some routing oddities with one client that has been assigned a 2-byte ASN, but it seems all the issues are upstream.
Do you mean 4 byte?
Err, yes. And I haven't even had a beer. Oh dear.
It seems that not everyone is ready. I think we need to send some folks a good supply of beer to make sure they upgrade their software.
Well, it should be backwards compatible for the most part. An AS with a 4-byte will need full support on all their kit, but they should be able to interconnect with peers without any problems. The non-4-byte AS sees it as AS23456.
Ah, theory. Everything works perfectly in theory. ;) -- Andrew Ruthven Wellington, New Zealand At home: andrew(a)etc.gen.nz | linux.conf.au 2010 | Follow the signs. Visit Wellington! | http://www.lca2010.org.nz
