That's what I heard from my man in Niue. Their link to Telstra in Wellington failed on Sunday - it's on a Frame Relay connection from Telecom Niue through Telecom NZ to TelstraClear in Wellington and then again for the duration of the fault yesterday. Interesting that the initial fault appears to have caused some problems that the technology should have prevented. Fortunately they have carrier diversity direct to the US so all was not lost. They sorted this out after the big cyclone 18 months ago - big disaster causes people to think about carrier diversity in their redundancy plans.
