I would like to point out that the only time connectivity to ns99 is critical is about 4:30pm each working day when the zone file are reloaded. At all other times ns99 has the secondary nameservers of *.nz backing it up.
Thanks Rex, but with respect, Its not about ns99.waikato.ac.nz being down Its about DOMAINZ having in place a means of:- a) Being informed in advance of any work taking place that could affect service quality b) Industry being able to report problems 24/7 c) Knowing that somebody is being paid to respond at any time day or night to deal with outages. d) Having faith the those who control and deliver service know what they are doing The .nz name servers are an important infrastructure asset which our businesses rely upon.
