We're connected directly to GGI, what are our options (if any) for peering with APE/WIX?
Well you don't have to go the full APNIC route if all you are after is local peering. You can advertise the space ( /25 , /26 or whatever) you are getting from your current provider across the exchanges (via another ISP or a private AS and the route servers) If you are central Wellington or Auckland you can connect directly to WIX or APE via citylink into your building. Failing that Vector/Tangent fibre might also connect to your building and you can get a link into APE/WIX via that. Next choice might be Whoosh, Wired Country or another Wireless provider into an ISP. After that Telecom and Telstra will sell you circuits from anywhere to anywhere. If you are buying WIX or APE only traffic you should be able to negotiate a good deal with an ISP since they will probably have plenty of space on the WIX/APE link so you would be costing them much. Cost will probably be between $500 and $1000 per month. Perhaps even a little less. -- Simon J.
