A qualified yes. I filter all broadcasts from organisations who tell me what they'll be sending, I don't generally filter from organisations who have their own ASN. So I have 35 odd peers, of which about half are ISP's with their own ASN, and about half are smaller single homed organisations that I give a private ASN to and which the route server strips off before redistribution. I expect all organisations who get a private ASN to give me a list of prefixes, since they're usually only 2 or 3 networks at most. ISP's I trust, with the caveat that I drop all routes from them initially, until I can eyeball what they're advertising. Given that most stuffups happen when they first start peering, that seems to work. Longer term, Sid and I discussed running a RADB, but neither of us got off our chuffs to do something about it. However, it is slowly bubbling up the priority list. Cheers Si On Wed, 14 Jun 2000, Joe Abley wrote:

Those of you who peer with the WIX route server on 202.7.0.3, there is a second route server with an identical config on 202.7.0.2, which is trying to peer with you as we speak (and has been for several weeks :-). So if you're messing with your WIX router today, add an extra peer to 202.7.0.2, and gain some resilience.
Are you filtering on either route server?
