Man that's some alternator you've got on that vehicle!
I wanna know how thick the wire is going to the cigarette lighter socket. That's a shit-load of amps at 13.8VDC
Someone didn't get the joke, methinks. Yea - made it worthwhile didn't it ;-)
We're talking 1.8 MILLION amps running through that cigarette lighter socket. I actually have a 500 amp shunt on the battery for the batt capacity meter and keep the engine running. Other vans carry generators. I use an inverter for 230 on the road but it won't boil a jug. It complained when I used the
Confession time - I actually melted the fuse holder that feeds the lights on the roof of my van TWICE. :-( Had to a serious wiring upgrade last week end. The problem is that the road rules have tightened up for people who work on the streets (no I'm not a "street worker", but it probably pays better). So I started off with a flashing light. People just don't see them, so I added a second - they still don't see them. Then I added floodlights which makes night work easier up poles. Trouble is all up you're pulling 250 watts of lights - and the whole fuse carrier just melts. Just imagine it, nice quiet night in Wgtn. (yer right) Go climb pole with flashers and floodlights (being nice and safe). Get to top of pole and poof out go all the lights - bugger ! Have to climb down thru the trolley wires and round teh Saturn cables in the dark. power drill last week.
