There are a bunch listed for New Zealand including the official name you should use for waikato.
Yep, saw that. Bigben isn't listed, however.
Which I guess means it isn't an offical public server. I seem to remember asking someone at clear a year or two ago if it was okay to use. Officially you should only be listening to a stratum 1 server if you are are running a strat 2 server that is serving a large number of other servers. Take a look at www.ntp.org for more info. Basicly you shouldn't listen to any server unless it's publicly listed, which means for your home machine (or small business) you should use one of the public stratum 2 servers that are listed at the URL I gave. Timemaster for ihug is one of my jobs, it's good for about 8 hours each year. -- Simon Lyall. | Newsmaster | Work: simon.lyall(a)ihug.co.nz Senior Network/System Admin | Postmaster | Home: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz ihug, Auckland, NZ | Asst Doorman | Web: http://www.darkmere.gen.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
